The group previously known as Trail Life troop 179 will now be called Troop 411, or the official number in Trail Life USA would be TX-0411.  Why the name change? Troop 179 was our BSA troop number, but there was really no compelling reason to keep that number. It didn't bear any significance to anyone currently involved. After meeting with the core committee team, the charter organization, and even looking for input from some of the boys, we decided on the troop number 411, based on Proverbs 4:11.

I went ahead and just changed the name of the group in Facebook. So if you were subscribed to that page, you should still be subscribed, but may have noticed it's under a new number.  For future web updates, look for http://traillife411.weebly.com for now.  And for twitter users, head over to http://twitter.com/traillife411 and follow us there.

The achievement transfer module is now available at http://www.traillifeusa.com/achievement-transfer-bsa-trail-life-usa/transfer-module/

This will let you enter BSA achievements to show you where it gets you in Trail Life USA.  I'm hoping this will be a web form at some point rather than an excel spreadsheet. It does not appear to work in Openoffice.org.

Trail Life Handbook
Trail Life USA hits another milestone, as promised, and right on schedule. The handbook for Navigators and Adventurers can now be ordered from their website at http://traillifeusastore.com/products/the-trailman-s-handbook-for-navigators-and-adventurers-premier-edition

As an added bonus, they have free shipping for this weekend on handbooks only. It'll be great to have the opportunity to start looking at them before the first of the year.

Uniforms are now available from Trail Life USA! I know a lot of you have been waiting for these to be available. They look great, and have a different logo on the sleeve for Woodland Trails, Navigators, and Adventurers.  Also, the new "Trail-T" Shirts are available now too.  Another milestone has been delivered. I've heard they are pushing hard to have the handbooks out "before Christmas". We've seen a few pages posted already, so it looks like they are on track to deliver this as well. I know we're all looking forward to seeing more in preparation for launching the troop at the beginning of the year.

Trail Life Troop 179 will be kicking off soon! We are getting ready to start up a new Trail Life USA troop in Austin, TX at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.  If you are looking for a troop, please feel free to contact us.  We also still have some opportunities for adults who want to get involved starting one of the first Trail Life USA troops in Austin, TX.
